Meet Marcus Claxton

Marcus began his mortgage career in 2003 with Household Finance Corporation. After gaining industry experience, he became an independent broker in 2006. When the market changed in 2008, he continued building his knowledge through roles with larger financial institutions, including American Bank and Wells Fargo.

While working at Wells Fargo, Marcus returned to school and earned a master's degree in accounting. In 2015, he transitioned into public accounting, where he prepared personal and small-business tax returns. That experience gave him an even broader understanding of financial documentation and the circumstances that can affect a borrower's financing options.

In 2016, Marcus returned to mortgage brokering and established Marcus Claxton Mortgage Services. What began as a part-time business quickly grew, allowing him to return to mortgage financing full time.

Today, Marcus assists clients with residential and commercial real estate financing. He is particularly passionate about helping first-time homebuyers and borrowers who need a knowledgeable professional to look beyond the obvious and explore practical solutions.

Marcus believes borrowers should understand the mortgage process rather than feel overwhelmed by it. If a client is not ready for approval, he explains the obstacles and helps create a practical plan for moving forward.

Marcus Claxton Mortgage Services is based in Peachtree Corners, Georgia, and assists eligible borrowers with residential and commercial financing needs across Georgia and Florida.
